Social Media sharing links without spying
Stop FB twitter etc spying on our users. We only need the ability for users to click to share on their own social media pages.
http://www.facebook.com/sharer.php?u=yourlink
http://twitter.com/share?text=yourtext&url=yourlink
There are probably similar things for other sites too. Otherwise the share buttons themselves would surely not work?
I found this to inset into pages using the wpcode plug-in:
$post_url = urlencode( get_permalink() );
$post_title = urlencode( get_the_title() );
$facebook_url = "https://www.facebook.com/sharer/sharer.php?u=$post_url";
$x_url = "https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?url=$post_url&text=$post_title";
$linkedin_url = "https://www.linkedin.com/shareArticle?mini=true&url=$post_url&title=$post_title";
$social_buttons = '
<div class="social-share-buttons">

Below Is Redundant
I previously used Shariff, as a wordpress plug-in. They have a load of stuff on Github. More recently though, the WP plug-in broke the site badly. I since found some script to add to WP-Code plugin instead and that works ok.
Ridiculously Responsive Social Sharing Buttons are SVG-based and change size depending on screen resolution. Almost no server hit. But this one looks a lot easier to implement!
Advantages: extremely fast, highly customizable, no JavaScript at all. And the parasites get no data from us whatsoever.
