Social Media Team
A team of people who will promote our recipients’ projects.
- likes comments, reposts, subscriptions to channels, etc.
- Boosting status of sites by viewing, following certain links, using search terms to follow to our sites, etc.
- posting in their own words about our recipients’ progress or about sites generally.
- following links and viewing PaidToPromote pages to earn views or coins to send to recipients
- Discuss and collaborate on ideas to do it all better. This would need something like our own Discord, though that’s overkill; maybe just a Telegram group.
Initially it will all have to be done manually, but see below “App and plug-ins” for future development.
There are a couple of example tasks on the thank-you page, and I made a start on a checklist on the old thank-you page. Neither is ideal, though; I think the browser extension and mobile app will be a lot better. In the meantime, we can make a start.
App and plug-ins
There’s a browser plug-in that would do what we need with little adaptation; clickspaid.com will instruct the user to (for example) go to Google, put in a specific search term, click a couple of random results, and then click the specific site they want you to visit. Then it asks you to wait and scroll a bit, then follow a link to another page.
This will help to make the site rank higher for whatever keyword or phrase was used. We could use such a system to ask people (for example) to
- Go to this post on nostr
- Like, or comment, or repost if you have an account.
- Follow the link to the clickforcharity site.
- Wait 5 seconds, then follow the link “Learn More.”
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the banner for lightning.news.
This is not easy to facilitate, because the user would normally have to keep coming back to the instructions. With the browser extension (and likewise with an app for mobile), it would be easy to do.
That one task will help to
- Promote Nostr itself,
- Help our Nostr profile to get more views.
- Increase ClickForCharity site rep.
- Give a better “bounce rate” to ClickforCharity by following an internal link.
- Help Lightning.news get more hits, as they are great and are promoting us.
- We’d also get some small revenue from the ads on the site.
- And the visit itself would contribute to how busy the site is, in turn giving us the ability to get higher-paying ad networks.
All in one short task!
Most tasks would be much simpler than that, but all is possible with such an extension. We could also have a points system and any other gamification features added to make it more interesting for the team members.
